Come on Church! Praise Him!

Psalm 67

1  God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

I believe that any time God blesses me it’s out of his mercy. I am so glad for the mercy of God.  His mercy rains over me every single day. I don’t deserve anything He gives me, yet every day He pours out blessings unto me.  I have food to eat, I have shelter over ny head, I have breath in my lings, I have sunlight every day.  You ca;lt help but see the mercy of God active in your life every day.He is so awesome.

David asks that God would make his face to shine upon us. To me that means He’s smiling and I love to make God smile. I believe He smiles when I praise His name, I believe He smiles when we are good Samaritans to those around us, I believe He smiles when we do those things that He asks us to do. That’s when his face shines upon us.

That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

When God blesses us and causes His face to shine, we reflect that light and His ways known upon the earth. It’s so important that His people praise Him. We must lift up the Praises of God – that is how others will hear and know that He is God. We talked several times about our testimony and how important it is to share that. It’s just as important that we lift up His name in praise.  David says that the nations will be glad and sing for joy because God will judge righteously and He will govern the nations of the Earth. It is so sad that more and more nations are turning away from God. There is a silence in the church that is almost deafening. The church needs to rise and lift their praise so that this whole world will know that He is God and His mercy is never-ending.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.

Again David says let everybody praise the Lord.  How much emphasis does he need to put on this before we will wake up and give our praise to God?  Day in and day out, no matter where we are or what we are going through, we should be praising the Lord. If we can’t lift up the name of Jesus wherever we are then our pride is in the way.  He needs to be first. If we will praise Him then the earth will yield her increase. Do we want a greater harvest? Here’s the answer – give praise to God and He will bless us. Not only that but if we lift our praises to God then all the ends of the earth will fear Him.
Come on Church!  Let’s lift up our praises to God and show the world that He is still God.  It doesn’t matter that the churches have been getting silent. It doesn’t matter that church attendance is down for the most part. It doesn’t matter that the atheists are louder and louder. It doesn’t matter that they’re taking down Christian symbols all over the country. The church needs to stand up and praise the Lord.  Each one of us, reading this post, needs to sing out His praise wherever we go.  he is worthy, and we are the instruments to take that message to the world.
Let’s praise Him
Lift up our voice and praise Him
Praise Him for His mercy
Praise Him for His grace
Praise Him for His wonderful works
Praise the Lord with your whole voice
Lift your voice high to the heavens
Let your praise be heard in the street
Let your praises be heard in the market
Let your praises be heard in  your house
Oh, children of the Living God
Praise the Lord!
