Your Help and Your Preserver

Psalm 121

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

What can He do to help in your situation?  How bad is it?  How desperate are you to get out of it?

Are you backed up against the edge of the sea, with an army approaching that is bent on destroying you?  He can deliver you, because He’s done it before! (Exodus 14)

Are you wandering aimlessly through life  in a wilderness of confusion, not knowing which way to turn next?  He can guide you with fire by night and cool clouds by day!  He’s done it before, He can do it again! (Exodus 13:21)

Are you facing a fiery furnace of trouble that seems it will w]swallow you up and destroy you>  The Lord can deliver you, because H;es done it before (Daniel 3)

Are you in a Lions den with hungry lions all around you, seeking to tear you to shreds?  yes, God can deliver you there as well, because He’s done it before. (Daniel 6)

I doubt any of us face what these great men faced in the old testament.  They know where to look for help.  We can learn a lot from them.  Look to the Lord whenever hardship or distress enters your life.  he is able, as He has done so many times before, to deliver you.  There is nothing too hard for God (Jer 32:27).  As one of my own poems puts it:

There’s nothing to hard
Nothing impossible
Nothing my God can’t do
Mountains can move
Rivers can stop
So He can guide you through

No sickness can stay
Disease must obey
When God sets His mind on you
All enemies flee
When my God speaks
His words are power and truth

Lift up His name
Give our God praise
Worship His holy name
Jesus our Lord
King evermore
Worthy of all our praise

When my prayers go up
To His throne above
His answer is on the way
Just wait on the Lord
His timing is sure
There’s blessing in every delay

When fear fills your heart
And doubt gets a start
That God may not hear your request
Just turn to His word
And know that He heard
He’ll give you His absolute best

Lift up His name
Give our God praise
Worship His holy name
Jesus our Lord
King evermore
Worthy of all our praise

When Jesus had died
On the cross crucified
A large stone was sealed for the door
The stone rolled away
That marvelous day
Now He lives forevermore

Lift up His name
Give our God praise
Worship His holy name
Jesus our Lord
King evermore
Worthy of all our praise

He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

He is always keeping watch over you.  he never takes a moment off.  That is hard for us to comprehend, because we need to rest.  our bodies need to rejuvenate themselves as we sleep.  But God s not like that!  He is always looking throughout the earth to find those who are fully committed to Him.   (2 Chr 16:9).  He is aware of your situation, and has it all under control,  Just trust Him!

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

He is my keeper.  Another song I  wrote.  You can find it HERE. There is never a moment He is not keeping you safe from harm, more harm than you may feel you are in now.  Do not fear!

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

He is your preserver.  I think of a life preserver thrown from a boat.  It does no good if you don’t reach out and grab it.  Grab onto Jesus, and let Him pull you into safety.  He will do it, because He has so many times before, and He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8)
